Early Life and Education

Born : October 12, 1951 (20 Mehr 1330, Persian calendar)

 .He completed his primary education in Abhar and later moved to Jam High School in Qolhak, Tehran

 .In 1969, he was admitted to the Tehran Insurance Higher Education Institute (Madreseh-ye ‘Ali-ye Bimeh) and graduated after four years

.He then pursued higher education in the United States, earning a Master’s degree in Systems Management from the University of Florida

 

Professional Career

.In 1979, after the Islamic Revolution, he joined the Central Insurance of Iran (Bimeh Markazi)

.He also attended professional insurance training courses in Switzerland and South Korea

Director of Reinsurance (International Acceptances)

Head of the Insurance Research Center

Head of Fire Insurance Department

Academic Career

Dr. Karimi had over 20 years of teaching experience at universities such as University of Tehran, Allameh Tabataba’i University, Islamic Azad University, the Banking Sciences Institute, the Imam Khomeini Educational Center, and the Industrial Management Institute

Passing

Dr. Ayat Karimi passed away in April 2024 (Farvardin 1403) in Tehran, at the age of 72.

:On his passing, the then-head of Central Insurance, Parviz Khosrowshahi, said

“.Today, the Iranian insurance industry has lost one of its greatest and most enduring figures”
