“Open Hearts” is the fourth single from The Weeknd’s sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. It also marks the second collaboration between Apple and The Weeknd with its upcoming Anton Tammi-directed “immersive experience”, marketed as an exclusive for the Apple Vision Pro.
“Open Hearts” explores themes of healing from heartbreak and learning to love again, a theme not uncommon in Abel’s music. Abel treats his love interest as an angel in disguise, a trope not too uncommon in Pop music.
The song’s existence, as well as its production credits, were first revealed on August 30, 2024 through being uploaded on the ASCAP database. It was also performed for the first time in Sydney’s first concert of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour on October 22, 2024.
On November 11, 2024, Abel announced in his social medias the Open Hearts immersive music experience on Apple Vision Pro and in select Apple stores beginning November 15th.
