جورجیوس کریاکوس پنیاتو (به انگلیسی: Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou) (زادهٔ ۲۵ ژوئن ۱۹۶۳ - درگذشتهٔ ۲۵ دسامبر ۲۰۱۶) که بیشتر با نام هنری جرج مایکل شناخته می‌شود، خواننده، ترانه‌سرا و آهنگساز مشهور انگلیسی بود. جرج مایکل در دههٔ ۱۹۸۰ میلادی به عنوان عضو گروه دو نفرهٔ وام! با آهنگ‌هایی همچون آخرین کریسمس به شهرت رسید و از سال ۱۹۸۶ به‌طور انفرادی فعالیت کرد. مایکل در طول دوران کاری خود بیش ۱۰۰ میلیون نسخه از آلبوم‌هایش را فروخت و او را می‌توان یکی از برترین هنرمندهای جهان در تمام دوران دانست که ۱۲ تک‌آهنگ انگلیسی و ۹ آلبوم انگلیسی و ده تک‌آهنگ آمریکایی و ۲ آلبوم آمریکایی داشته و همه او را با اثر مشهورش نجوای بی‌پروا (Careless Whispers) می‌شناسند. بسیاری او را مهمترین خواننده بریتانیایی موسیقی پاپ در دهه ۱۹۸۰ میلادی می‌دانند که در کنار مایکل جکسون، مدونا و پرینس یکی از ستون‌های اصلی موسیقی پاپ آن دهه بود. مایکل جوایز بسیاری را در طول ۳۰ سال خوانندگی خود کسب کرد:۱-دو جایزه گرمی از هشت بار نامزدی ۲-سه بار جایزه MTV music ۳-دوبار برندهٔ بهترین خوانندهٔ بریتانیا ۴-برنده بهترین گروه بریتانیا(wham) در سال ۱۹۸۵ (به نقل از ویکیپدیای فارسی)
