اسپایس گرلز (انگلیسی: Spice Girls) در سال ۱۹۹۴ در لندن، انگلستان شکل گرفت. در ماه مارس ۱۹۹۴ تبلیغی در روزنامه «The Stage» به این شرح چاپ شد: «آیا بین ۱۸ تا ۲۳ سال دارید؟ می‌توانید بخوانید و برقصید؟ آیا جاه‌طلب، اجتماعی و بالیاقت هستید؟» صدها دختر به این تبلیغ جواب دادند. از بین درخواست‌ها، پنج نفر انتخاب شدند که عبارت‌اند از: ملانی چیسهلم، جری هالیول، ویکتوریا آدامز، ملانی براون و مایکلی استفنسن که در کنار هم گروه "Touch" را شکل دادند. در ماه ژوئن که این گروه اولین جلسه ضبط خود را داشت، مایکلی استفنسن به خاطر مسائل تعهدی مجبور به ترک گروه شد و اِما بانتون جای او را گرفت. از این تاریخ تا مارس ۱۹۹۵، دخترها باهم در خانه کوچکی در میدنهد (Maindenhead) زندگی کرده و تمرین نمایش و رقص می‌کردند. آنها بعد از ارائه موفقی که روبروی جمعی از فعالان موسیقی و تولیدکنندگان داشتند، تصمیم به برکناری مدیر اصلی خود گرفته و الیوت کندی که اهل شفیلد بود را به عنوان تولیدکننده وارد همکاری کردند. آنها معتقد بودند که مدیر قبلی خیلی تسلط‌طلب و سلطه‌جو بود. از این به بعد نام گروه به «اسپایس گرلز» تغییر کرد. «خداحافظ» تک‌آهنگی از اسپایس گرلز است که در سال ۱۹۹۸ میلادی منتشر شد. این تک‌آهنگ در چارت‌های بریتانیا، نیوزلند در رتبه اول و در چارت‌های استرالیا، ایتالیا، فنلاند، سوئد، سوئیس، نروژ جزو ده ترانه اول قرار گرفت.
